NEW YORK – The controversies keep coming for Tekashi 6ix9ine even while he is in the middle of serving his three-year sentence.
The rapper is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn for violating his supervised release on racketeering charges. While incarcerated, the rapper was caught on a phone call playing legal blackjack from his jail cell and winning for $50k.
The bet took place on the mobile blackjack site, Rainbet, where he drew a 13 against a dealer 10 with $50k on the line on a single hand. He hit once, bringing his hand to a 15 before staying put. The dealer then pulled a five card hand of 24, causing a bust and a winning hand.
According to the rapper himself, this is not the first time that he’s played blackjack while locked up. He admitted to paying $10k to acquire a cell phone and playing through $15k in blackjack with it.
The whole reason for playing blackjack was to pay off a custom chain that he purchased that had a remaining balance of $50k.
Due to his partnership with Rainbet, he has constantly posted them on his X account while in prison, stating that playing blackjack is helping his sentence go by faster.
