NEW YORK – The day has finally come in New York City, and residents will be getting their first-ever full-service casino in the city with the soft launch of Resorts World Casino.
The soft launch is on Tuesday and will feature plenty of legal blackjack tables. To be exact, the casino will feature roughly 250 table games, including not only blackjack, but roulette, craps, and baccarat, along with other table game classics.
“New York City has never seen anything like what we’re planning for April 28. Once the Gaming Commission’s final testing is complete, live table games will be open and operating right here in Queens for the first time in the history of New York City. We are ready to welcome New Yorkers to this exciting new experience,” said Robert DeSalvio, president of Genting Americas East, in a written statement.
The NY blackjack casino will be located directly next to the Aqueduct Race Track in Jamaica, Queens, near JFK. It was also had a massive economic impact on the area, with a reported 2,200 new jobs expected to be created, including dealers, servers, security, and all other essential personnel needed to offer a casino.
Being that this is just the soft launch of the blackjack casino in New York City, there is plenty of room for growth moving forward. Once all is done, there will be a total of 950 table games and over 2,700 new career opportunities created.
