- A heated exchange was caused at a $5 blackjack table over hitting on a 6.
- Tik Toker, Barry Dutter, tells the story of the exchange.
LAS VEGAS – While $5 blackjack returns to Las Vegas at various casinos, so do the $5 blackjack players which have caused a scene, according to Barry Dutter on TikTok.
In his previous TikTok video before playing legal blackjack for $5, Dutter talks about how $5 blackjack draws beginners to the game and low quality players. He continues to explain how those who choose to play $5 blackjack should do so at their own risk.
In his next video, he shares that a heated exchange happened between himself and another player after the dealer was showing a 16, and multiple players hit while showing 13, 12, and 15.
After the hand, Dutter blurted out loud to the dealer, “is this everybody’s first day? Because I can’t believe what I just saw.” After saying this, the player next to him responds, “no, it’s not my first day, and I don’t appreciate your comments!”
How It Played Out According To Dutter
After the hand played out, Dutter told the story on his TikTok account as he saw it.
“I look around the table, and I see the other players have, like, a 13 or 12 or 15, whatever, and I have a nine. So, obviously, I’m doubling down—I’m the only player at the table who needs to take a card. Doesn’t make any sense for anybody else at the table to take a card if they’re playing basic strategy.”
He proceeded to explain that no one was playing basic strategy, which caused the entire table to lose. He was in third base (last seat), four person table. He goes on to explain that the dealer was showing a “6” and that he was in the final seat of the table with three other players.
The first two players had “15” and “13” and busted out. The third player, the one who had the exchange with Dutter, was showing a “12” and hit twice before busting.
Dutter was showing a “9” in which he doubled down, resulting in a 15. From the dealers' “6”, they went on to pull a “10” and a “5”, resulting in a 21, forcing the whole table to lose.
