Bally’s, Hard Rock, Resorts World Each Granted NYC License

NEW YORK – All three finalists for new casino licenses in New York were approved by the New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) on Monday.

Bally’s Bronx, Hard Rock Metropolitan Park, and Resorts World NYC had been in the process of acquiring licenses, but finally received the final push to be approved this week.

Each receives a license with a minimum of $500 million to be paid before the end of the year, as well as a $500 million minimum in capital investment

Each legal blackjack casino will be located in New York City, where there are currently no operating casinos.

Resorts World is expected to open their expanded casino in the Spring of 2026, while the other two are on track to open some time in 2030.

Playing Blackjack In New York City

As previously mentioned, there are currently no in person casinos in New York City, meaning players in the city must travel to other parts of the state in order to play in person blackjack.

Legal blackjack in New York can be played in person at 11 land-based casinos or online at offshore blackjack sites, such as Ignition Casino or Slots.lv.
