Blackjack Player Files $75k Lawsuit Against Aria Las Vegas

  • A casino player claims he was drugged at Aria for a $75k marker.
  • The player is suing the casino for those alleged actions.

LAS VEGAS – A Las Vegas gambler, Michael Thomson, is suing the Aria Resort & Casino after he’s claiming to have been drugged and unconscious before having a $75k casino marker taken out in his name.

The incident took place back in late January 2024, when Thomson originally took out a $10,000 marker, which he paid back that same night.

That same night, though, he is claiming that his last memory was playing in the high limit blackjack room before waking up in a holding room in the casino handcuffed to a wall. He was detained by the casino after property staff claimed he was lashing out at security guards after sleeping in the Sky Suites Lounge. He was informed of the $75k marker after waking and being trespassed by the casino.

Within the lawsuit, Thomson is claiming that he was drugged and unconscious when the marker was taken out in his name and that no casino employee stepped in despite his condition. He then contacted his bank and told them not to authorize any more transactions to Aria before being arrested for theft and intent to defraud.

Thomson paid off the Nevada blackjack loan to finish the case before opening the lawsuit against them in an attempt to get back the money he paid.
