New York Blackjack Market Set To Expand Via 3 New Casinos

  • Three casinos are on the cusp of approval, which would make live dealer New York blackjack more accessible for NYC residents.
  • Players in New York can play live dealer blackjack online if they are over the age of 18.

NEW YORK – Three finalists have reached the final stages of receiving licensure for casinos in New York, receiving recommendations from the New York Gaming Facility Location Board.

Bally’s Bronx, Hard Rock Metropolitan Park, and Resorts World NYC are the last three standing of an original 11 candidates. Resorts World NYC already exists, but is seeking to expand its current facility in order to add a full casino, hotel renovations, and a performance venue.

It is looking increasingly likely that each of the three will be approved, with board chair Vicki Been announcing that the group “determined that awarding all three licenses best advances the state’s long-term economic, fiscal and community objectives.”

Current New York Casinos With Blackjack

Of 24 land-based casinos, only 11 offer legal blackjack in New York with the two casinos closest to New York City - Resorts World New York City and Empire City Casino - only offering electronic blackjack.

Resorts World and Hard Rock Metropolitan Park will be located in Queens, while Bally’s Bronx will be in the Bronx. The addition of these three casinos will make it infinitely easier for players in New York City to access live dealer blackjack without having to travel across the state.

How To Play Live Dealer Blackjack Online In New York

Fortunately for players in New York who want to play live dealer blackjack without travelling, there are online options. Many mobile blackjack sites offer live dealer blackjack, such as Ignition Casino and Slots.lv, amongst others.

Even if they are approved, these casinos will take years to construct before they officially open, so online live dealer blackjack is likely the best option as of right now.
