LAS VEGAS – It was an eventful 2026 Consumer Electronics Show with several new electronics and innovations leading the way. None more exciting, though, than the SharpaWave bionic limb that capped off its prize winning performance by dealing a hand in blackjack.
The legal blackjack hand by the bionic limb was the final presentation from Sharpa, a Singaporean based robotics company that ultimately led to them being the named the most innovative of the event for the year.
Dealing blackjack hands wasn’t all that the SharpaWave was able to do. In addition to dealing cards, the robot also played ping pong against a real person.
The bionic hand has several key features that allow it to be as life like as possible, including a 22 degree freedom range, which allows for precise finger movement. There is also a 1,000 tactile pixel lens, which lets the robot pick up objects and handle them in the appropriate manner.
From CES Example To Replacing Human Blackjack Dealers?
The first thing that comes to mind when seeing this robotic limb dealing blackjack hands is if it has the capability to replace real live Nevada blackjack dealers in retail casinos.
While this may seem like it could work, blackjack dealer should not have anything to worry about, as there is nothing like a true player to dealer experience. Several casino players go and look for specific dealers to play with, and have built relationships with them, and so on.
